JERSEY CITY, NJ, OCT 16, 2018 -- Indy Team 2, a mishmash team of talented free agent ballers, took on Probably Hungover last Tuesday night. While neither team has been a stranger to losing this season, one squad had a stronger desire for victory on this October night.
To start, both teams were evenly matched on offense and defense. They communicated well and played at a normal pace, getting good looks, but had trouble scoring points. The wide array of missed layups were hard to keep track of, especially from Indy Team 2 (IT2). They were also taking and missing way too many wide-open 3-pointers.
Probably Hungover’s Oliver Kaljuvee had the team’s first 7 points. As the game progressed, his teammates started moving the ball better and their zone defense was working great. But scoring was hard to come by, and the 1st half meandered into a low scoring tie at 17-17. Mike Minion led Indy Team 2 with 7 points and Oliver Kaljuvee had 9 points.
The 2nd half of the game was a complete 180. Probably Hungover was getting outplayed and outscored 34-10, with the damage started by indy Jarrett Schreck sinking three 3-pointers in a row. The pace of the game picked up and became more physical, which got Probably Hungover rattled on defense and frustrated on offense. The game stayed close until halfway through, and then IT2 started pulling away, gaining a 16-point lead. Probably Hungover eventually fell apart and couldn’t make a comeback, losing for the fourth week in a row.
Indy Team 2 won 51-37 stopping their 2-game losing streak. Oliver Kaljuvee finished with 14 points 9 rebounds and 1 block with help from Andrew Durako’s 10 points 1 assist, 9 rebounds and 1 block. For Indy Team 2, the top 2 players were Jarrett Schreck with 16 points, and 2 rebounds and Ramone Webster with 11 points, 2 assists, 3 steals, 3 rebounds and 1 block.
