MANASQUAN, NJ -- It's early yet in the ABL Men's Winter Hoops Season, but Team Gortat hasn't skipped a beat since claiming the Championship last spring, climbing to the top of the standings with a 3-0 record.

The wins haven't come easy, as Los Banditos (2-1) gave them a scare with a 67-69 nailbiter, and the Homelanders (0-3) only lost by 5 in their most recent contest. 

They'll face their greatest test of the season this week when they take on the highly talented United Nations (2-0).

We have 5 undefeated teams in the standings right now, but change is coming.....

MESSAGE TO THE LEAGUE

Welcome to the 2024-25 Winter Basketball Season!

Each team will play a 10-game schedule, plus playoffs. All games at St Denis Gym in Manasquan, NJ. We have 11 teams on the docket!

Captains -  please make sure you double-check the schedule each week. 

Individual Players - you have been placed on the Norsemen, and you have a Bye for Week 1. You will receive a team jersey at Game 1.

Full Teams - friendly reminder, you must have matching, numbered shirts or jerseys. 

Also, each team will pay the referees cash before tip-off - $40 per team, per game. 

Currently, we only have the Week 1 Schedule available, but we will post more games later in the week. 

BYE / BLACKOUT DATES: There will be no games on Sunday, December 1 (Thanksgiving Weekend), Sunday, Dec. 29 (Christmas Weekend) or Sunday, February 9 (Super Bowl). All other Sundays are in play. 

Each team will be scheduled to play 10 regular season games, plus playoffs. Top 6 teams qualify. 

FORFEIT RULE: Please note that if you cannot make a scheduled game, it will go down as a 20-0 Forfeit Loss. In the event of a Forfeit, you just notify us within 48 hours of the game, otherwise a $80 Forfeit Fine will be assessed (due the Friday before your next game). This rule is in place to keep the league organized, and to also compensate the referees in the event of a 'no show' or last minute cancellation. Also, by letting us know 48 hours or more in advance, we can give your opponent the courtesy of letting them know ahead of time, instead of showing up on game-day only to find no opponent. Thanks for your understanding. 

EMERGENCY PHONE: The door to the gym should be open, but if you are locked out at the start of game-time, please text or call the league phone at 732-272-6003. 

WEATHER: In the event of a 'Snow out,' the League will send a text message to all team captains. You can also call the phone, and a message will be left on the status of games. 

PLAYER CONDUCT: Any player acting out of line will be ejected and removed from the League. Please make sure your teammates understand, we have a No Tolerance Policy for foul language towards referees or scorekeepers, and have no patience for unsportsmanlike conduct. We are here to have fun, be competitive and play the game! Our referees are very qualified, but they are human, so please no excessive complaining.
