Alligators Hungrier for the Win

Bill Leonard's 12 points lead the team

Jersey City, NJ – The Alligators and Probably Hungover were two teams in search of their first win this season, so the stakes were high. However, the game didn’t start out that way.

Both teams had a very slow start offensively. Alligators had an advantage starting the game 5 on 4 and got 4 steals in a row but couldn’t make anything happen on the offensive end. They played great defensive, but bad shot selection as they were chucking up and missing 3-pointers. It took over 5 minutes for either team to score, neither communicated, low scoring, but close game. Probably Hungover picked up things on the defensive end and got rolling, forcing multiple lead changes. Alligators finished the half strong leading by as many as 7 and going into halftime with a 32-25 lead. Mike Lennon and Bill Leonard led these Alligators with 7 point each, while Oliver Kaljuvee led Probably Hungover with 12 points.

The second half was a turnaround as things got much more intense and physical between these two teams hungry for a win. After a flagrant, technical foul and ejection against Probably Hungover, Alligators shot 4 free throws and retained possession pushing their lead to 10. Both teams played with more energy, communicated on both ends of the floor and looked to push the ball on every play. Probably Hungover would go on a run, but Alligators would soon bite their heads off, taking charge with defense and ball movement to go up by 15, the largest lead of the night.

Alligators would secure their first victory over Probably Hungover with a score of 58-48.

For the Alligators, Brett Lededer finished with 11 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 3 rebounds, Brett Bially would also add 11 points, 2 assists, 4 steals and 4 rebounds, Bill Leonard contributed 12 points, 1 assist, 2 steals. 4 rebounds and 1 block and Mike Lennon finished with 9 points, 2 assists, 3 steals and 7 rebounds.

Probably Hungover’s Oliver Kaljuvee wrapped up leading all scorers with 16 points, 2 assists, 1 steal 5 rebounds and 1 block, Andrew Durako had a double-double 11 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block and Ben Carr with a near double-double of 11 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
