Jersey City – After a narrow defeat the previous week, Scrappy SZN was looking to bounce back against X-Factor, a team in search of their first win. The game started off very fast with Scrappy SZN in control right from tip-off. They communicated well and moved the ball beautifully. X-Factor, on the other hand, needed a lot to go right if they wanted to have a chance in this game. They didn’t communicate well on offense or defense, played a lot of isolation basketball, had poor shot selection, and could not establish a go-to guy for scoring. Scrappy SZN was confident on every play, out-rebounded their opponent, and seemed to get off whatever shot they wanted. Their largest lead of the first half was 18. X-Factor showed their limited chemistry and were on the verge of a blowout. Scrappy SZN led at halftime by a score of 33-15, with Vic Rosario leading all scorers with 12 points.

The second half saw much of the same trends as the first. Scrappy SZN stayed hot, going on a 9-2 run out of the break, with all of their scores coming via fast break. X-Factor could not slow the ball down on defense. They did, however, have some good defensive moments in the second half to show some signs of life.  They'd finish the game with 7 steals but could not take advantage of those opportunities on the offensive side of the ball. X-factor finished the half with some wild shots and never found a rhythm. Scrappy SZN played well as a unit, shot the 3-ball well, and extended their lead to 42 points. It was a runaway for a mercy rule as they won 72-33. X-Factor’s Dan Basoff had 8 points in the loss, adding 1 steal and 1 rebound, while Sidney Laplante tacked on 7 points, 1 assist, 2 steals, and 5 rebounds. Scrappy SZN finished with four players in double figures. Vic Rosario posted 15 points, 2 assists, 7 rebounds, and 1 block. Miles Davenport added 12 points and 7 rebounds. Remy Braddock contributed 11 points (three 3-pointers), 1 assist, 1 steal, and 3 rebounds. Antonio Burnett II, who was on fire throughout this one, was one assist shy of a triple double.  He finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists, and 3 steals.
