Flames Goes Out

JERSEY CITY, NJ -- The Hot Boys had a great shot at being undefeated this season until they ran into Indy Team 2, a fifth seed at that.

Indy Team 2 came straight out the gate with a lot of energy and looking to score. They started the game on a 10-0 run forcing Hot Boys to take an early timeout. It took over 6 minutes for Hot Boys to score their first field goal, which is highly unusual, but then they got going and went on an 11-0 run.

Both teams look to score in the paint a lot, but Indy Team 2 was missing too many layups and second chance opportunities. After a few lead changes, Indy had all the momentum and went on a 14-4 run to end the half and were up 29-19. For the Hot Boys, Antonio Burnett II and Ronald Prophete each had 6 points and for Indy Team 2 Ramone Webster led the way with 12 points. He would finish with 13 points, 4 assists, 5 steals, 1 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Indy Team 2 continued to be red hot from the field, forcing Hot Boys to play catch-up. They were up by as many as 14 and Hot Boys struggled to make their usual shots. Both teams played great defense, but Indy was just a bit better and were able to finish. Mike Minion was a beast on the boards for Indy Team 2 and was able to box out Ronald quite well who’s an amazing rebounder. Hot Boys slowed down, didn’t push the ball and became frustrated and Indy Team 2 pulled off the upset 56-47.

Antonio Burnett II finished with 17 points, 1 assist and 5 rebounds and Ronald Prophete added 15 points, 1 assist, 1 steal and 6 rebounds. For Indy Team 2 the player of the game was Mike Minion who put up 20 points, 4 assists, 3 steals, 14 rebounds and 1 block.
