'Spos Get 1st Win of Season!

The NJ Expos finally got their first win of the season, knocking off Balls Deep.  Sometimes, just getting that first win goes a long way in building the team confidence moving forward!  Let's see how the Expos response with their next 2-game series.

Game 1 was an impressive outing for the Expos.  They scored runs in all 6 innings, including a solid 6 run 2nd.  Johnny, Rey & Danny all combined for 9 runs scored.  Speaking of Rey, he was the strongest at the plate going 3 for 3 with a walk & 3 RBI's!  Rob was solid as well with 3 doubles in the game.  Altogether, the Expos had 20 base hits (15 of which were extra base hits).

Balls Deep couldn't generate much out of the bottom of their line up.  IE:  11 total batters, their 7-11 players went 7 for 16.  All singles & 4 RBI's.  Not terrible, but they need more to compete with a team dropping 19 runs through 6 innings.

Final Score Game 1:
Expos - 19
Balls Deep - 10

Well, the Expos got their 1st win & the momentum didn't last very long.  Balls Deep rallied in Game 2, scoring 18 runs total.  Mind you, they scored in every inning.  Cisco led the team with 4 runs scored.  Ziggy batting in the 11 spot actually came up with with 4 RBI's.  Clean up man Dave was a Home Run short of hitting for the cycle.  He has a cannon for an arm as well hitting the cut off more than once in this contest!

The Expos struggled with 5 batters striking out.  I might see 1-2 K's per game, but 5 in softball is rare!  Credit the "base on balls" master Jorge, who was 0 for 1 with 4 walks lol.  Gotta love it!  The old Billy Bean method, "They can get on base"!

Final Game 2
Balls Deep - 18
Expos - 13
