Tainos Blow a 9 Run lead in the 7th!

WEEHAWKEN, NJ -- Tainos had scored 11 runs in the 5th and 7 runs in the 6th, seemingly on their way to a Game 1 win over the power house Waka Cooper Place.  They had a 9 run lead going into the bottom of the 7th, 9 runs!  They had so much momentum, even the umpires and myself were convinced they had this game in the bag!

Then it happened... 6 Walks, 5 Singles, 2 Doubles & 10 RBI's later, it was all over.  Waka Cooper Place shattered the hearts & souls of Tainos & their entire cheering section.

You gotta hand it to Waka Cooper for their resilience & stamina!  They came back 9 down and won fair and square.  Bobby & Andrew each had a Homer in this game.  Dom, the pitcher somehow got the win!  Absolute ABL Softball at its best!

Game 1 Final
Waka Cooper - 24
Tainos - 23

You knew Game 2 was all over before it started.  Tainos had their hearts stomped on, buried into the turf, then dug up and throw into the Hudson.  Their juice was gone, their fire was out, their season was simply over.  Waka Cooper wasted no time and took full advantage of the opportunity Tainos presented to them by scoring 27 runs through 3 innings (13 in the 3rd).

Lead off man Bobby had a Grand Salami, Kunz had a Grand Salami & Andrew added a 3 Run Homer.  Tainos kept their pride, Carmine crushed a Grand Slam in the 4th to give Tainos some smiles & Cheers!  The damage was simply too much to battle back from.

Game 2 Final
Waka Cooper = 27
Tainos - 11
