The Hot Behinds entered their Tuesday night doubleheader with a record of 3-4 and on the brink of elimination. Knowing that even a split would probably mean having the next two weeks off, the Hot Behinds delivered their most dominating performance.
Player of the week Frank went 5-6 over the two games and threw 12 scoreless innings to become the first pitcher in league history to toss two shutouts in the same day.
In game one, the lock down HB defense held the Backyard Brew Crew to just two hits. Dave went 3-3 and scored 3 times as the Behinds coasted to an easy 14-0 win.
In the nightcap, it would be the Aaski Kickers looking to play spoiler. Aaski held tough, only trailing 4-0 after 4 innings, but an 8-runs on 7 hits 5th inning put this one away early as well. Dave chipped in with another 3-3, 3 run effort.
The sweep secured the #5 seed for the Hot Behinds and set up a date with Make it a Double next week. MIAD outlasted the Hot Behinds in a slugfest 15-11 a few week ago.
In other games, the Misfits secured the # 2 seed by defeating the Aaski Kickers 12-1 and Bond Street nabbed the #6 seed by defeating Backyard Brew Crew 11-8.
So, the Playoffs are set.
