JFK STADIUM, HOBOKEN, NJ --  The 10th & Willow Wolverine’s were in for a battle to remain undefeated as they faced off against No Fat Chix, a really good team themselves who hadn’t lost a game yet.

           The first half was all Wolverine’s as they played smart on offense, strong on defense and had plenty of confidence. ABL veteran Quarterback Isai Carrillo completed 12 passes on 12 attempts and 2 touchdowns, both caught by Andrew Solomon. Tim Fougere was great on defense, blocking multiple attempts.

         No Fat Chix, on the other hand, got off to a slow start as no one was able to cover Solomon. QB Ryan Sheridan struggled early, completing a mere 3 of 10 passes, holding on to the ball too long as the offense just wasn’t there. But the last 3 minutes for 10th & Willow were sloppy, and No Fat Chix took advantage as Kyle Murphy made a big-play interception and Ryan was able to throw a TD to Henry Vieluf, which gave the team some much needed motivation. Wolverines led at halftime 13-6.

          The competitive flow spread like wildfire in the second half. No Fat Chix was able to tie the game and had all the momentum, while 10th & Willow kept getting penalized for rough plays. The game was getting ugly for these guys as they focused more on the ref than their opponent. The No Fat Chix defense stepped up, and Ryan Sheridan completed a lot more passes, giving his team the lead.

          10th & Willow wasn’t going down without a fight and a huge play and touchdown by Ashley Furman tied the game at 19 with under 2 minutes to go. No Fat Chix had an opportunity to put this game to bed, but the ball slipped through Ray Sheridan’s hands and it was on to overtime. After a competitive battle, 10th & Willow Wolverines won the game 25-19 with a touchdown by Dennis McInerey!
