Double-Double’s not enough

HURLEY'S COURT, NJ -- Coming into this game, Chubb’s chances of locking in a playoff spot were slim to none, yet they still played with a sense of urgency. The O was slow for the Vipers, and Chubb was dominating, but of course that didn’t last long. The Vipers turned their venomous game all the way up and led by as many as 16, practically running circles around Chubb.

Chubb was stagnant and needed to find answers in the second half as they were down 35-19. The Vipers Will Kales led all players with 19 points.

Vipers continued to beat up on their opponent in the second half, as Chubb lacked communication on the floor. But luckily, their offense came from an unusual scorer in Jon Dempsey. Thanks to him, Chubb was able to slowly creep back into the game, shortening their deficit to only 10 points.

But the Vipers didn’t allow them to get any closer, officially knocking them out of the playoffs with a 67-50 win.

Chubb’s Drew Leatherman had a double-double 20 points, 14 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block along with Jon Dempsey who also had a double-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals.

Team effort from Vipers as Will Kales totaled 34 points, 4 assists, 1 steal and 8 rebounds, Gabe Robinson 12 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists (double-double) and JP Kernisan added 10 points, 2 assists, 2 steals, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks.
