Langosta stays within striking distance with an impressive win

JERSEY SHORE COED LEAGUE BULLETIN-- Week 4 at the Shore is complete, and Bada Bing continues to set the pace. A commanding 12-1 victory over Bond St added to an already impressive run differential. Joe was 3-3 at the plate and stellar as usual on the mound. At 4-0 and outscoring their opponents 53-5 it looks like there is no slowing down this machine. And just when you think things couldn’t get any better for the Bingers, it’s the 0-4 Asbury Slammers that come limping in next game, fresh off a 13-3 Aaski Kicking. Lay the 3 touchdowns with Bada Bing on the 22nd.

The Backyard Brew Crew got themselves to 2-1 with a solid performance, defeating the Master Batters 19-8. BBC’s Kevin Rickert had himself a night with 3 hits, including a pair of triples and 5 RBI. The Master Batters’ Danny Mendoza had 3 hits to help make it respectable, but a 15-run first inning was all the Brew Crew needed to throw it into cruise.

The surprise story of the season so far has to be the team from Langosta. Led by shortstop James, who hit his first homer of the year in the 1st inning, Langosta jumped out to a quick 5 run lead over Make it a Double and held on to withstand a comeback attempt with the 6-4 win. The victory got Langosta to 3-1 and right in the middle of the playoff picture.

With the loss dropping them to 1-3 on the season, Make it a Double will face a must-win situation when they take on the Master Batters next week.

As we approach the mid way point, things are shaping up nicely. Questions will be answered. Can the Misfits (3-1) and Bond St (2-2) return to the form of last season? Are the Hot Behinds (2-1) and Langosta (3-1) for real? Does Make it a Double (1-3) have anything left in the tank for one more run at glory? Can the Brew Crew (2-1) bounce back from their early season loss to MIAD and get into the mix?

Will Bada Bing (4-0) go wire to wire, or will the mounting pressure that comes from chasing perfection be too much for them to handle? It’s going to be an exciting second half of the spring season.
