The championship game began as a defensive struggle, but one team would break out in the second half.  That team was 10th & Willow Wolverines, led by Championship MVP Marquis Wright.  The wide receiver/defensive back tormented The Flutie Boys’ defense, consistently getting behind enemy lines and finding the open spot on the field.  He’d secure a team high 6 passes and converted 3 of those for touchdowns.  It was an opportune time for his best performance of the season, stepping up his game under the brightest of lights.  The championship game hat trick proved to be plenty enough as the 10th & Willow defense had a stranglehold of The Flutie Boys’ offense.  Wright also played a strong game in that defensive backfield to compliment is high offensive output.  An honorable mention also has to go to the quarterback who delivered the ball to Wright, Isai Carrillo.  Carrillo posted a highly efficient night, completing 19 of 22 passes for 4 touchdowns (0 interceptions) and a perfect 118.75 passer rating.  It was a slow start for him in the first half, which it was for both offenses, but he tore up The Flute Boys’ defense in the second half, finding open receivers and dropping passes into tight windows at every level.  Congratulations to both for their second straight, well-deserved championship.
