Combined 27 points between dynamic duo

ABL Hoops, Winter League, Jersey City, NJ -- On this Tuesday Night at Hurley's Court, we were in for a treat as two of the top teams in Kristaps Porzingis Division faced off.

From start to finish, both the Alligators and Wolfpack teams played aggressive, competitive and physical.

The Alligator’s defense was smothering and that strategy worked, as it took The Wolfpack almost 7 minutes to score their first points. Both teams battled on every play with players colliding and hitting the deck hard scrambling for loose balls. Even with all that hustle, The Wolfpack had a hard time finding an offensive flow. They didn’t display much of a team effort, only 1 assist in the half; Alligators did the opposite. Almost every Alligator scored or touch the ball on each play, and because of it, they were able to take a 12-point lead, 26-14 at halftime. Alligator’s Alex Bially led all players with 8 points.

The Wolfpack picked up their offense in the second half by getting second chance opportunities and a few stops, but that still wasn’t enough to match the Alligators. The lead remained in double digits thanks to the Bially brothers. Brett Bially was dishing and scoring. He had 3 assists late in the game all to his brother Alex, who added another 8 points.

The Wolfpack made a run to come within 4 points, but fell short.

The Alligators (5-2) closed them out 49-43 to take the number 1 playoff spot in their division. Wolfpack’s Josh Heyer finished with 12 points, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block and 10 rebounds for a double-double and Anthony Lawrence added 11 second half points, 2 steals and 6 rebounds.

Alligator’s Brett Bially had 11 points, 4 assists, 2 steals and 3 rebounds while Alex Bially contributed 16 points, 1 assist, 2 steals and 4 rebounds.

The standings are getting crowded, the playoffs getting closer....time to hunt.
