Jersey City, NJ- Quite a competitive game between Charliewang Express and Probably Hungover last week at "Hurley's Court" in Jersey City.
Both teams started well defensively and showed great chemistry offensively, but Charliewang Express had the upper hand. Their defense became too overpowering and forced Probably Hungover to work hard for every made shot. Charliewang Express (2-1) led by as many as 12 as they were able to execute most of their plays. Probably Hungover (2-2) continued to hustle on both ends of the floor and were only down by 9 going into halftime, 35-26.
Charliewang’s Ean Egar and Billy Bowd had a dominating first half. Ean with 10 points and nothing but the bottom of the net for Billy, he had five 3-pointers and 20 points leading all scorers.
The game was still a battle in the second half, and Probably Hungover tried to make a comeback, getting within 4 points. But due to untimely turnovers and fouls, they couldn’t take the lead.
The Wang pulled away in the final two minutes of the game, going up by 11 thanks to Player of the Game Egar, who went crazy in the second half for 11 points. He finished with 21 points, 1 assist, 1 steal, 3 blocks and 13 rebounds, gaining an impressive double-double.
Probably Hungover’s Oliver Kalijuvee had 10 points, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block and 9 rebounds and Jason Scherr finished with 15 points, 4 assists, 2 steals and 7 rebounds. And can’t forget about Billy Dowd, who showed he had game from deep, mid- range, in the paint, and at the free throw line.
Charliewang Express wins 62-51.
