O Kal scores 22 pts in victory

JERSEY CITY, NJ -- Energetic, physical and competitive are words to describe last Tuesday night’s matchup between New Mutants and Probably Hungover.

New Mutants put on a good first half on both ends of the floor, recording 6 steals as a team. Khaleeq Stafford led the team in scoring with 9 points. Nonetheless, Probably Hungover seemed perfectly sober as they put up an even better performance offensively. Every player on the team scored at least one field goal in the first half, with Jason Scherr in front with 7 points. Probably Hungover led at halftime 29-23.

New Mutants came back in the second half still competitive and ready to erase that 6-point deficit. It started raining 3’s as the team recorded five 3-pointers, two from Ira Fabian and 1 a piece from Jeffrey Whitaker, Khaleeq Stafford and Jamiel Paige. Even that couldn’t stop Probably Hungover, a team that only made one 3-pointer all night.

New Mutants refused to go down without a fight, literally. Frustration got the best and double techs were eventually given out to Khaleeq Whitaker and Oliver Kaljuvee as the game got more physical with 1:31 left to play. Probably Hungover easily took the win 64-52.

For New Mutants, Ira Fabian had a total 14 points and 6 rebounds, Jeffrey Whitaker had 13 points, 3 assists and 1 steal and Khaleeq Stafford finished with 14 points, 3 assists, 2 steals and 5 rebounds in the loss.

Probably Hungover’s Jason Scherr and Oliver Kaljuvee were the beast mode players. Jason capped off the night with 16 points, 6 assists, 2 steals and 3 rebounds and Oliver finished with a remarkable 22 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists.
