Fall Season Playoff Softball Has Arrived

The Houston Astros may have won the MLB World Series, but we still have to crown a winner of the Men's ABL Softball League.  Let's check out the match ups for this weekend!

Bad Intentions vs. The Outlaws:
Statistically, Bad Intentions (14-4) are the best team in the league.  They lead the league with 392 Runs Scored & lead the Cal Ripken Division with 242 Runs Against.  They have some speed with Chris Otero & power with Jude Bracken.  The Outlaws made it to the playoffs with a 10-8 Record (only 6-8 in their division).  They need Jerry Torres to pitch some solid innings to defeat the Bad Intentions.  Jerry is known for his fake outs & wild antics on the mound.  If he can fool some of the Bad Intentions batters, we might have a crazy game on our hands!

Tainos vs L.O.B.
Tainos (14-4) is arguably the 2nd best team in the league.  We just witnessed their comeback win this past weekend in Garfield.  They are aggressive at the plate & on the bases.  Leave it Rafae to run his mouth the entire game as well.  Good news is, if you don't speak Spanish, you will have no clue what he is saying!  L.O.B (10-8) have some power hitting of their own & have a tendency to hit "alot" of extra base hits.  This one is going to be a slugfest!

Ad Rush vs Big Big Willies:
This is the Ad Rush's best season yet, finishing with a 14-4 record, good for 1st place in the Joe Carter division. They score runs (319 on the season), & pitcher Kevin is having a solid year on the mound (232 runs allowed).  Team Captain JC is a Miami Dolphins fan, but we'll let that slide.  Big Big Willies are 9-9 which is surprising given they lead their division in runs scored at "322".  Can they pull off the upset?

North Bergen Dawgs vs Arsenal:
The North Bergen Dawgs (13-5) can hurt you.  I have personally seen them score 21 in an inning.  The only question is:  How long will take for them to get hot.?  If anyone has ever watched this team, you know they usually start out slow, then by the 4th inning, the light comes on!  Arsenal (10-8) has had the same players for some time & they have their work cut out for them against the Dawgs.  Team Captain Tom Romano is a savvy veteran & Joey Feinstein will surely bring his better half to the game!  I might cover this game!

Bad Hombres vs Expos:
The Bad Hombres have the best record in the league at 16-2.  They may have the best pitching in the league as well, allowing only "154" runs against?  WOW!  The Expos are the only team with a losing record (7-11, not the convenience store!) to enter the playoffs.  The Shenton brothers need to play solid ball & Steve Holmes (better known as "X") will surely have this team fired up.  Steve is a loud, emotional guy, something a team like the Expos need in the playoffs!

Young Bucs vs Cliff Dwellers
Two very similar teams!  Both can hit, both can field.  The Young Bucs (13-5) have more youth on their side (along with more speed) but the Cliff Dwellers (10-8) have the better pitching!  The Kirby Puckett Division after Bad Hombres is anyone's guess!

Let the games begin!  Good luck fellas!
