McSwiggans Pub broke out the bats with a 16-5 victory over Farside Ballbusters on Sunday at Mama Johnson Field.

      Three of Farside Ballbusters' runs were scored thanks to timely hitting by Mike Brizzolara. He homered in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning in a 2 for 3 effort.

      Randy Williams came away with the win for McSwiggans Pub, allowing five runs on eight hits, one strike out, and no walks in seven innings.

      Home runs for McSwiggans Pub came when Brandon Doyle homered in the third and fifth innings and Dan Lyons homered in the fifth inning.

      Mike Brizzolara was charged with the loss. He allowed 16 runs in six innings, walked three, struck out one, and gave up 20 hits.

      The top of the first saw Farside Ballbusters take an early 2-0 lead. A two-run blast by Vinny Menechino, scoring Mike Brizzolara, started off the inning.  They would tack on three more runs in the third, extending their lead to 5-1.

      McSwiggans Pub answered Farside Ballbusters' top of the third with four runs of their own in the bottom half.  They scored on a three-run home run by Doyle and an RBI double by Albeiro Hincapie, tying the game at 5-5.

      McSwiggans Pub pitching and defense would stifle the Farside Ballbusters bats after the third, shutting them out the rest of the way.  McSwiggans Pub plated three runs in the fourth inning when they scored on an error and a fielder's choice, a lead they would not relinquish

      McSwiggans Pub broke out with seven insurance runs in the fifth, really putting this one out of reach. Williams' double got things going, scoring Debra Noble and Dan Clark. That was followed up by Corey Brown's single, plating Williams.  McSwiggans Pub would cruise to a 16-5 victory over the potent Farside Ballbusters lineup.
