Taino's and Outlaws duke it out in a doubleheader slugfest.

Game 1

Outlaws failed to take advantage of Matt Reynolds's efforts at the plate in game one on Sunday, losing 19-14 to Taino's in seven innings at Century Park.

Reynolds blasted two home runs for Outlaws. Reynolds went 2-3 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Reynolds homered in the fifth and sixth innings.

Lou Napolitano got the win for Taino's despite allowing 14 runs over seven innings. He struck out two, walked five and surrendered 17 hits.

Taino's easily handled Outlaws pitching as seven hitters combined for 19 hits, 14 RBIs and 17 runs scored.

Home runs for Taino's came when Josh Colon, Luigi Napolitano, and Carmine Napolitano homered in the sixth inning.

Sean Stapleton ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed 19 runs in six innings, walked one and struck out none.

The top of the first saw Outlaws take an early lead, 3-0. A double by Joe Tansey, scoring Andy Cepeda, started the inning off. Outlaws pushed more runs across when Reynolds scored on an RBI single by Eduardo Jacobo and Tansey scored on a sacrifice fly by Anees Ahmad.

It didn't take long for Taino's to answer as they scored three runs of their own in the first. Taino's scored on a sacrifice fly by Carmine Napolitano, an RBI single by Eddy Tineo, and an RBI single by Luigi Napolitano.

Taino's scored three runs in the fourth inning, and then followed it up with three more in the fifth. In the fourth, Taino's scored on an RBI double by Jamie Williamson, plating Jon Sims.

Taino's never trailed after scoring six runs in the sixth, thanks in part to three solo blasts.  They took game one in convincing fashion with the offense rolling strong.

Game 2

Fans were treated to another high-scoring affair on Sunday as Outlaws outscored Taino's 21-9 in just four innings of game 2.

The teams combined for 34 hits, including 14 extra base hits.

Sixteen runs in the first three innings helped Outlaws blow out Taino's. A three-run home run by Joe Tansey, an RBI single by Sergio Gomez, a two-run double by Ricky Alba, a two-run home run by Robert Mercedes, and a single by Andy Cepeda during the first inning and sacrifice flies by Ed Stolz and Alba and a pair of RBI singles by Anees Ahmad and Gomez in the second inning supplied the early offense for Outlaws.

Outlaws hit four home runs in the win. Additional home runs for Outlaws came when Eduardo Jacobo homered in the third inning and Gomez homered in the fourth inning.

Sean Stapleton got the win for Outlaws despite allowing nine runs over four innings. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered 12 hits.

Outlaws easily handled Taino's pitching as eight hitters combined for 19 hits, 18 RBIs and 17 runs scored.

Lou Napolitano ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed 21 runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out none.

Taino's jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Josh Colon kicked things off for Taino's with a single. Jamie Williamson would later double, plating Colon. Taino's then tacked on another run when Williamson scored on an RBI single by Eddy Tineo.

After pushing across six runs in the top of the second, Taino's faced just a 9-8 deficit. RBI singles by Louis Dessus and Rafi Cabreja, an RBI double by Colon, a two-run single by Carmine Napolitano, and an RBI triple by Tineo gave Taino's life.

Outlaws survived Taino's' surge and put up three runs of its own in the third. Outlaws scored on an error and a two-run home run by Jacobo.  Outlaws would follow this up by shutting out their opponent in the top of the fourth and ending this one early, plating five runs in the bottom of the inning and securing the split via mercy rule.
