McSwiggans Pub stays patient, secures playoff victory

This semifinals matchup between McSwiggans Pub and Schreib Tribe could have easily turned into a slugfest with the amount of talented hitters on both sides.  However, being the two teams in the entire league with the lowest runs allowed totals, maybe we should have saw this one coming.

This game was decided in 1 inning total; one half of an inning from Schreib Tribe and one half of an inning from McSwiggans Pub.  That was the extent of the scoring in this one.  Both teams put on an excelling pitching and defensive display, continuously robbing each other of hits and would be runs.

After trailing 1-0 through most of the game, McSwiggans finally broke out in the 6th with 3 runs.  The rally short rally was started by Dan Lyons and Dianna Garcia and capped off by Corey Brown.  This would be all that McSwiggans needed as they continued to shutout Schreib Tribe for the final 7 innings, advancing them to a championship bout with Riverfront Carwash Ballbusters.

Player of the game honors go to Randy Williams.  He gave up just 1 run as the McSwiggans Pub pitcher, while holding his opponent to a .235 batting average and earning a WHIP of just 1.00.  He also went 2 for 3 at the plate and drove in the go ahead run.
