The 2016 Winter Shuffleboard Season is over, and the champions have been crowned. And oh what a season it was! A fun-filled, brew-guzzling regular season, some epic best of 5 playoff series battles, and when the dust cleared, 2 deserving Champions.
Congratulations to the Asbury Park Champions, "Shuffle Me Bad" and the Hoboken Champions, "The EarthQUATES!"
In the AP Division, Mikey Rox crushed the competition, leading the league with the best points per game average. His penchant for 5-point plays, and steeled nerves were the catalyst in 'Shuffle Me Bad's' dominating season. They finished with an overall 19-3 record.
In the Hoboken Division, husband and wife team "The EarthQUATES' were truly a dynamic duo, the Von Blohns sitting pretty among the division scoring leaders. They went on to take down the # 1 seed in the Championship Series for their 3rd Championship win. Yes, a 3-peat!
So now, another 2 Champions will be added to Lord Shufflepuck Cup, their names etched in stone for eternity.
Enjoy it while it lasts, my shuffle masters - for this spring, a new crop of shufflers will embark on a new quest for glory.
