Murderer's Row Finally Loses in Big Game

HOBOKEN, November 12 - Much like the 2007 New England Patriots Murderer's Row walked through the 2014 Fall co-ed season unscathed. Dropping bombs on their opponents and leaving calamity in their wake on a path to a 9-0 season. Much like those Patriots this Murderer's Row team would lose their cool in the big game.

The Insects had a great season too at 7-2, and sat safely behind Murderer's Row in the Fall South Division for most of the season.

Unfortunately for Murderer's Row they had to start their championship game against the Insects short a player. This would make for a crucial automatic out in their lineup and a glaring hole in right field.

Despite the deficiency Murderer's Row and Insects were having a fantastic game with no one gaining a clear-cut advantage throughout the contest. Matter of fact, Murderer's Row was holding a two run lead until 5th inning.

It was in that very fifth inning that the Insects shed their shell of hitting mediocrity and started to mash.

After a lead off walk for Alex Elkas followed by yet another walk for Andrew Webber; Mike Swisher loaded up and fired a towering home run to drive in three runs for the Insects to take a 4-3 lead in the big game.

Ryan Arcadia and Gus Guida tacked on two insurance runs for the Insects in the seventh inning with back to back two out bombs giving the bugs a 6-3 lead over the Row.

It came down to the final inning with the insects holding a slim two run lead. Chris Finneran muscled out a solo homerun to lead off the inning to make the score 7-6 with three outs for the Row to work with, but the subsequent batters would strike out, fly out and ground out to end the game.

The small lead for the Insects proved insurmountable for Murderer's Row, who despite finally getting their last player in the game was not able to hold off the Insets.

Congratulations to the Insects on their 2014 Fall South Division Championship.
