Farkle stands toe to toe against Roosevelts

HOBOKEN, September 12 - As the fall season approaches, and summer temperatures start to drop, two teams still remain red hot.  The stage is set for the West Division’s Summer Championship game.  There is only one place where spectators can see two teams make history as they slug it out in a 9 inning prize fight. Who will be the last team standing at Mama Johnson Field on Monday September 15th at 8:30 pm?

In the visitor’s corner, coming in with a 7 and 2 record are the Roosevelts.  Making their ABL debut this summer, the Roosevelts got off to a slow start with a 1 and 2 record in their first 3 games of the season.  One of the team’s losses was against their upcoming opponent this Monday, Farkle.  Since then, the team is on a 6 game winning streak.  When the team is backed against the ropes and the game looks to be slipping away, Roosevelt 2nd baseman Kelly Lukacs is able to use her glove to keep it close and put her team in position to strike.  The deadly one-two combo of Anthony Halwagi and Corey O'Neill will put teams down for the count.  Anthony has lighting quick speed on the bases and Corey has the power.  Earlier in the season, Corey smashed a homerun hitting the wall next to the 2nd floor windows of the apartment building in centerfield.

In home’s corner, coming in with a 6 and 2 record is FarkleFarkle has made it to the big dance in the 2014 spring season, but fell short.  Leaving a bad taste in their mouth, this contender is pound for pound one of ABL’s best.  Opponents have to watch for Farkle’s knock out punch of Rob Lennon and Sean Byrnes.  In the 2014 summer season, the two of them combined for 43 RBIs, and Rob crushed 10 homeruns.  If that isn’t enough to worry about, Farkle has a dangerous right hook.  Mark & Kristen Meehan are both coming off incredible playoff performances offensively and defensively.  The two middle infielders limit and absorb any hit towards them as they come back to counter at the plate.

The game should be one for the ages as there is only one place to play, ABL.
