Dan O’Brian off to a red hot start

SUNDAY, June 13--- 'Merica started the summer season swinging as they hit the ABL scene with a 2 and 0 start.  In their last game Smack My Pitch Up took a late game lead courtesy of Luana Vasconcelos’ RBI.  In the top of the 7th inning the pressure was on ‘Merica, but Dan O’Brian and Matthew Cunningham both launched two homeruns to give their team a 10 to 8 lead.  Dan’s solo shot tied the game up while Matt’s 2 run bomb put his team in position to defeat Smack My Pitch Up 10 to 8.

In the past two games Crissy Vicendese, Erin Cunningham, and Greg Pestipino have helped lift their team to victory with the offense they have provided.  There is one teammate that has really stood out in the first two games of the summer.  Dan O’ Brian is now 8 for 8 at the plate with 7 RBIs.  On top of his 1.000 batting average, he hit for the cycle last Sunday in which a hitter couldn’t have asked for a better start.

On a side note, ABL would like to tip their cap to an individual who plays the game at the highest level time and time again. He puts fear in the eyes of defenses every time he steps up to the plate.  He is known around the league as the Great Bambino, the Caliph of Clout, and the Sultan of Swat.  ABL recognizes him as Randy Williams who plays for McSwiggans Pub.  Congratulations on tearing the cover off the ball when you hit a monster shot over the right field fence.
