Teams fear the return of Adam Schreiber

MONDAY, June 2, 2014---the Hoboken Spring Competitive Division is tightening up after Schreib Tribe defeated the Insects 7 to 6.  There are currently 3 teams in the division with a record of 3 and 3 leaving no margin for errors.  With two games remaining on the schedule for Pitch Slapped, Insects, and Schreib Tribe, the pressure is on making a very interesting and exciting finish to this season.

Schreib Tribe’s Jason Gurtman and Greg Bottitta were a deadly combo against the Insects on Monday night.  They both went yard, knocking in 5 of the 7 runs scored.  Greg’s 3 run home run made his team take a 4 to 2 lead in the top of the 5th inning, while Jason’s 2 run blast over the left field fence gave the Tribe some much needed insurance runs making it a 7 to 3 game after the top of the 6th inning.

During the course of the game Tribe all-stars Kaitlyn Foley and Mike Jamgotchian did a great job holding off the Insect offense.  Kaitlyn played a flawless 3rd base, especially grabbing a hard hit ball down the 3rd base line and getting the runner out at 1st in the bottom of the 2nd inning.  Jamo’s lightning speed is dangerous on the base paths, but it’s fatal in the outfield. Fly balls are terrified of him as he is known to be a rally killer.

The Insects looked like they were going to make a last inning comeback due to Ryan Arcadia’s 2nd home run of the game.  Ryan’s bat was a huge reason why the Insects came close of pulling off the W.  He went 4 for 4 with 3 runs, 2B, 2HR, and 4 RBI during the span of the game.

Schreib Tribe is getting healthy at the right moment, in which a few key players are coming off the DL to make their playoff push.  The return of team captain Adam Schreiber will be a huge asset to the team offensively and defensively.  With no heavy bags in sight, opponents better not let their guard down because this contender is ready to strike.
