MONDAY, MAY 5—It looked like a late game comeback for Big League Brews thanks to Jaime Logan’s 3 RBIs and Matt Pizzolato’s homerun. The Brews had surmounted a five run deficit in the bottom of the 6th inning, only to have it taken away by Jennifer Benensky’s glove and Todd Filipps’ 3 run homerun.
Where My Pitches At (3-1) displayed great discipline at the plate in this game. They made the opposing pitcher work; anything outside the strike zone was off limits. A walk is just as good as a hit, and sometimes a walk is just as good as a double. This is what led to the Pitches’ 3 runs scored in the 1st inning and 4 runs to keep the lead late in the game.
Pitches' Christopher Poreda and Ward Sandler have perfect self-control when stepping up to the plate. Both Chris and Ward both scored 4 of the 8 runs in the game. Chris is also leading the team with 7 hits and 6 runs during the course of the season.
After 4 weeks of play, Where My Pitches At have a 3 and 1 record. If Where My Pitches has a wild pitch, their next opponent will be sure to Smack My Pitch Up. That’s why a team has to keep their pitches in line. If a team doesn’t have control of their pitches, it will definitely cost them.
