Insects, Tilted Kilt, and Mission 50 looking to make impact

The ABL Coed Fall Softball season is underway and there are a few new teams looking to raise the bar of competition this fall.

The newbie squad called The Insects are in the Carlton Fisk Division with a current record of 1 and 1.  They have a complete team of players that know and understand how to play the game.  Teams better watch out for the left side of the infield because 3rd baseman Andrew Thurmond and shortstop Ryan Arcadia showed off their gloves and both have cannons for arms when throwing to first base.  Andrew also is currently leading the Insects in RBIs.  Team defenses better be on high alert when Melissa Manganelli is at the plate because she currently is leading the team with a batting avg. of .667.

Titled Kilt is making it’s a splash in the George Brett Division.  Team Manager Nick Calicchio put together a team that is going to change the landscape of the division.  Tilted Kilt displayed their power Monday night against McSwiggans going over their homerun limit. Tilted Kilt’s Will Cepeda, Chris Gonzo, and Justin McKay all went yard Monday night.  Tilted Kilt looks to be making a run this spring because they not only have power but they added ABL’s finest when 1st baseman Amanda DeWan  and company joined the mix to make what looks to be a competitor this fall. While their record stands at 0-2, they have lost two very close games.

This fall, Mission 50 split their roster into two teams to give everyone a chance to play.  Good news for them, but bad news for the rest of the league.  Teams just had to worry about one championship-caliber team in the Carlton Fisk Division.  Now teams have to worry about The Mission in two divisions.  Team captain Adam Schreiber is setting new goals for his competitive team. He brought Mission 50 veterans Jason Gurtman (pitcher), Marysa Cole (SS), and Kaitlin Foley (3B) to name a few.  Mission 50 rookie Dan Koo (1st base) is making a name for himself so far this season.  He is 5 for 6 with a .833 batting average.

The fall season looks to be an exciting and competitive one.  Good luck to all!
