Dumbledore's Army goes 2 and 0 in double header

MONDAY, August 5, 2013—Dumbledore’s Army entered the night with a .500 record of 2 and 2 in the Robinson Cano Division. They played two games Monday night, and won both.

Their first opponent of the night was against McMahon's - a game that ended in dramatic fashion. McMahon's had the lead the entire game until the bottom of the 7th inning when Dumbledore’s Andrew Harnischfeger (aka Harney) hit a game-winning grand slam to put his team on top and win the game 9 to 6. Harnischfeger finished the game going 2 for 4 with 6 RBI.

McMahon's played a great game, and looked like they were going to pull away, but Dumbledore’s Army made key plays in big moments to keep the game close.  In the top of the 3rd inning, third baseman and spring coed all-star Elizabeth Dauble had a huge unassisted double play when McMahon’s had runners on 1st and 2nd base.  Also shortstop Johnny Ufferlidge, 2nd baseman Jacquie Hage, and Left fielder Christian Vercollone all stepped up their game in the field when plays needed to be made shutting down the opposition.

In their 2nd game, they defeated No Glove, No Love 5-2 at Stevens College. Once again, Liz Dauble came through, this time with the bat, going 1 for 3 with 3 RBI's.

Dumbledore’s Army headed into Monday night 2 and 2 and finished with a 4 and 2 record in the Robinson Cano Division.  Their next two games are against McSwiggans Pub, who lie in first place in the division.  Dumbledore’s Army is in contention for first place depending on the outcome of their upcoming games.  It should be interesting!
