Hoboken, NJ - Burrito Boyz and JV Superstars were two teams pushing for one of the final playoff spots. The game started off hot for JV Superstars when Johnathan Edwards intercepted the first pass of the game and returned it for a pick 6. Burrito Boyz were not off to best offensive start, but it was slow going for both offenses. Each quarterback struggled, but more so for Dan Dexter for JV Superstars. He was only able to get off 6 passes and completed 3. On the other side, Richard Hunt of Burrito Boyz completed 6 of 14 but was also victimized by more than a few drops. Dexter did, however, hit the speedy Giuseppe Capasso for a long touchdown on one of those completions. Burrito Boyz got themselves back in the game when Hunt found George Eder and Kyle McCann for touchdowns, but still trailed at the half 13-12.
The second half began with low energy and neither team really showing a sense of urgency. The dropped passes also continued for both teams. Once the big man Rob Simeonoglou of JV Superstars caught a pass, showed off his footwork to get by multiple defenders, and rumbled his way into the endzone, the game began pick up. Both teams started traded touchdowns, leading to a few lead changes and this was anybody's game. Then, the JV Superstars offense went stagnant and Burrito Boyz took full advantage. They took their largest lead of the game by a score of 31-19 with just 3 minutes left to play. Giuseppe Capasso showed up big for JV Superstars, catching 6 of 8 targets and converting 2 of those for touchdowns. However, it was Eder George for Burrito Boyz who stole the show, catching 7 passes with a whopping 4 touchdowns, and led his team to victory by a score of 39-31.
