McSwiggans and Bad Intentions are able to get back in the win column.

Hoboken, NJ – Bad Intentions was able to get back into the win column this weekend in Game 1 of Monday night with their nice comeback victory against Jet.com.  Bad Intentions thought they were on the right track, taking a 5-2 lead into the third inning.  They did so with patience and taking advantage of miscues, with 3 of their 4 first inning walks coming around to score and two of those a result of an outfield error.  Despite the tough start, Jet.com showed their resilience.  They would outscore their opponent 7-0 in the very next inning to gain the 9-5 lead.  They also took advantage of a fielding error as the offense caught fire.  Jet.com saw a stretch of nine straight batters reach base safely (5 singles, 2 double, 1 walk, 1 reach on error), with the big hit coming from Frank Amabile’s 2 RBI double.  Major contributors to that streak were Audrey Weller and Delaney Nicol, who both had great games combining for 4 of 8 at the plate with a run scored and 2 RBI’s.  Weller also showed off her skills at first base with a number of great plays in the field.  After that point though, it was all Bad Intentions. They would make the necessary adjustments and shut down the Jet.com offense the rest of the way.  The offense, on the other hand, chipped away with one run in each of the fourth and fifth innings and two in the sixth, tying the game at 9-9.  Jordan Diaz was a key cog in the comeback with his solo homerun in the fourth and his RBI single in the sixth.  Ray Tejeda blasted a solo homerun of his own in the fifth and Jessica Dolan had a productive RBI groundout in the sixth to round out the scoring.  The tie game took us to the seventh, where Bad Intentions again held serve in the top of the inning.  Needing just one run to steal the victory, Danny Benitez, who was already 2 for 2 on the night, took full advantage of an outfield error to make his way all the way to third with just one out.  After a walk, Danielle Schlein came to the plate and delivered for her team with the huge walk-off RBI single to left, scoring Benitez and completing the comeback by a score of 10-9.

Rebounding after a tough 0-2 weekend last week, McSwiggans bounced back with a strong win over Bad Intentions in Game 2 of the night.  Much like game one with the roles reversed for Bad Intentions, McSwiggans fell behind 4-1 early after three innings of play.  The big blow came in the first inning when Tejeda absolutely crushed his second homerun of the night, scoring three runs in the process.  After losing the first three innings, McSwiggans took over the next three by outscoring their opponent 7-1.  The defense obviously stepped up and the offense took full advantage of their opportunity.  It wasn’t any particular player; it was a team effort.  They strung together hits, took advantage of miscues, and saw their runners repeatedly cross the plate.  Greg Nadler accounted for two RBI’s in his first game of the season with his RBI single in the fourth and his solo blast in the sixth.  Nicole Falgiano recorded an RBI single of her own, while Dan Clark and Alexis Peguero each smacked doubles and accounted for three RBI’s.  Jomar Casiano slugged a solo homerun for Bad Intentions for their only run during the stretch.  That brought us to the seventh, McSwiggans holding a three run lead.  The Bad Intentions defense held strong in the top of the inning to keep hope alive, as McSwiggans was unable to pad the lead any further.  Bad Intentions saw two of their first three batters reach base safely to bring Tejeda to the plate as the tying run.  He would get just under this one though, still earning the sac fly and cutting the lead to just two runs.  Tempers flared from a collision at second base during the play, but McSwiggans was able to settle down and nail down the victory by a score of 8-6.
