Jersey City- By now, the league knows how dangerous Slaughterhouse is as one of the only 2 undefeated teams this season. Wolfpack would get their firsthand look. Slaughterhouse started the game firing on all cylinders, beginning 3 of 4 from deep and snagging 3 steals all in the first 2 minutes. The ball movement on offense and the quick hands on defense left Wolfpack scrambling for adjustments. Wolfpack had too many turnovers and weren’t defending tightly enough. Slaughterhouse would get the ball up the court fairly quickly after a rebound and Wolfpack was slow to get back in transition. Even so, the game remained somewhat close because Slaughterhouse struggled went cold from 3-point land for a stretch. However, a team this good knows how to score and, in the blink of an eye, they brought their lead back up to 19-point. Slaughterhouse led at the break by a score of 34-18 and all 7 team members put the ball through the hoop.

The second half saw more of a fight from Wolfpack, as they started with a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 10. Slaughterhouse remained in the driver’s seat though, responding with a 6-0 run of their own to get the lead right back to 16. Wolfpack did their best to get stops and go on small runs, but this team is tough to slow down. Slaughterhouse led by as many as 18 and the closest Wolfpack came after their initial second half burst was 12. Wolfpack once again gave up too many uncontested 3’s and allowed Slaughterhouse to kill them on the glass. Wolfpack has now lost 4 in a row as Slaughterhouse’s win streak continued with their 69-56 victory on the backs of 12 3-pointers. Wolfpack’s David Wiggins put up 18 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocks with teammate Anthony Lawrence adding 12 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal and Josh Heyer contributing 11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 assist. Slaughterhouse’s Nnamdi Enechiyia put together 17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists while Dakota Tipton added 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal and Denzel Saunders posted a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds with an additional 4 steals and 2 assists.
