LAST WEEK -- As the Monstarz & Ad Rush waited patiently for the game umpire, chatter was spreading about the NFL Draft, bad weather & if I could umpire the game?  Not carded yet, in due time ladies:).  Bean, the umpire finally arrived.  Poor guy got a flat tire on the Parkway (these things happen).  The games started a little late, but both squads were ready to go!  The Monstarz & Ad Rush are pretty evenly matched in terms of pitching, hitting power, & veteran leadership. 

There was an amazing play at the plate as Ant crushed a shot to deep left.  Somehow Ad Rush was able to get the ball in & Mike playing 3rd base gunned a throw to homeplate, Alex made the catch, tagged Ant for the 3rd out of the bottom of the 5th.  Tremendous play! I can't blame Ant for going for home, he has speed & a decent stride.  Ad Rush had a solid top of the 7th inning by scoring 3 runs starting at the top of their order, (Jonathan, Craig & Steve) all scored, JC with a clutch 2 RBI single.  Ad Rush carried a 2 run lead into the bottom of the 7th.  RDock batted in 1, but at the expense of a Sac Fly which resulted in the 2nd out.  Jack flied out to left & that was it.

I guess I should have known Ad Rush was folding early in this one when seasoned veteran Craig let his bat fly, not once but twice???  Holy smokes!  Get the man some liquid chalk or a beer (imported?).  Ad Rush didn't show up for this one, Monstarz dominated!  Greg & Justin added Homers for the Monstarz & they both tied for the lead in RBIs with 4 each.  The Monstarz had a beast of an inning in the top of the 3rd with 11 runs driven in.  The rain started up again & its clear Ad Rush wanted to get home to read about the NY Giants draft pick who was shot 3 hours after being selected, shm..  The teams split, we all expected it & we were right!
