Alligators sneak into the playoffs with an impressive 50-point victory over X-Factor.

Jersey City – After a slow start to the season and largely being counted out, Alligators have certainly turned things around to close the regular season. After getting some help earlier, a must-win game for them against X-Factor turned out to be a piece of cake. They started out of the gate on fire with an 18-5 lead just five minutes in the half. Alligator's defense was tight, considering X-Factor was shorthanded and the speed of the game made it almost impossible to stop the ball. Their largest lead of the half was 33 and their 3-point shooting was the best it has been all season. Alligator’s Brett Bially started 7 of 7 from the field, all of which from beyond the arc. As a team, they hit a whopping 15 3-pointers in the first half alone, adding 19 assists. They would drop 21 3’s for the game. X-Factor played like they were already eliminated from playoff contention, lacking effort and interest.  They didn’t run back on defense, didn’t guard the 3-point line well, and had no communication on the floor. Alligators blew them out with little effort and it was only halftime.  The score at the break was 65-34. X-Factor’s Dan Basoff led the team with 15 points and Brett Bially led Alligators with 21 points.

The second half was more of the same as Alligators continued their onslaught, playing perfect team basketball that included countless offensive rebounds, second chance points, and very few turnovers. With the Charliewang Express loss earlier in the night, their playoff spot was all all but secured as the lead extended to a high of 53. X-Factor were tired, with the pace of the game just being too much, and this game was in the books. Alligators won via the largest mercy of the season, 107-57, and snagged the fourth and final playoff spot.  This was achieved by winning an impressive 6 of their last 7 games. X-Factor’s Dan Basoff finished his season on a high note with 26 points and 4 rebounds while teammate Jean Adam added a double-double of 11 points and 15 rebounds, also adding 2 assists and 2 steals. Meanwhile, 6 out of the 7 Alligators players scored in double figures. Brett Bially led the charge with his double- double of 31 points and 12 rebounds, tacking on 1 assist.  Bill Leonard contributed 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist.  Alex Bially added 16 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal.  Will Brandt posted a season high 12 points on 4-4 shooting from long range, also accounting for 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.  James Kaminek posted a second double-double of 12 points and 15 rebounds, tallying 2 assists in the process. Mike Lennon dropped 10 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals.  Wow, what a performance.
