Bially Brothers lead the way

HURLEY'S COURT, JERSEY CITY, NJ -- It’s a fight to get into the playoffs and the Alligators did not come to mess around. After a slow start to the season they are on a winning streak, while Probably Hungover are still desperately searching for their first win.

To start the game, Probably Hungover was in total control. The pace of the game was slow, the way they like it because they can defend better. The Alligators were taking and missing way too many 3-pointers and the one-pass and shoot method just wasn’t cutting it. Probably Hungover made them work for every made basket on defense and were producing well on offense. They communicated and passed the ball well. Probably Hungover had an early 5-point lead, but suddenly those 3’s the Alligators were taking started to fall and their defense turned on.

Alligators stormed past Probably Hungover with a 17-0 run to lead by as many as 14 and leave their opponent scoreless for over 8 minutes. Both teams made a couple runs throughout the rest of the half, but Alligators ended it on a 10-2 run to grab a 12-point lead at halftime, 34-22. Probably Hungover’s David Arias led the team with 6-points, while the Bially brothers, Alex and Brett, had 12 points each to lead the Alligators.

Alligators came out the second half on fire with an increased pace and aggressiveness. They extended their lead to 16, but Probably Hungover wouldn’t go away. Their effort was amazing and they dominated on the glass. Probably Hungover went on an 11-0 run to cut their deficit down to only 3, but Alligators responded well to every run. The chemistry, trust and team effort allowed for another double-digit lead and they were able to finish strong in the 67-51 win.

It was the best basketball we’ve seen them play all season and they have now won 3 in a row. For Probably Hungover, Ben Carr had a big game, leading the team with 14 points, 4 assists, 1 steal and 7 rebounds followed by Oliver Kaljuvee’s 11 points, 5 rebounds and 1 steal. For the Alligators, Bill Leonard put up 15 points, and 4 rebounds and the Bially Brothers exploded. Alex Bially finished with 20 points (6 three-pointers), 3 rebounds and 2 assists and Brett Bially also added a double-double 20 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.
