Pack your bags, start the car, this series is over! We have a Champion! Adrenaline Rush closed the gap, they found their consistency (something this team has lacked throughout the years), they found their composure, dug deep, wanted it & finally got it!
Game 1 was an offensive onslaught! Ad Rush scored 27 runs (8 in the 7th). Everyone in the lineup scored at least 1 run. JC led the team with 5 RBI's batting in the #3 slot (team-leading 54 RBI's on the season). Steve led the squad with 4 runs scored. Home runs were courtesy of JC & Jeremy.
The Punishers had some spark on offense as well scoring 15 in this one. Erwin (perhaps the fastest player in the league) went 3 for 4 & 2 runs scored. Jorge did his job at the clean up spot with 2 hits & 3 RBIs. Pops, the pitcher struggled finding the strike zone walking 9 batters (that just cant happen). Credit Ad Rush for using the Billy Bean strategy of just getting on base.
Game 1 Final:
Ad Rush 27
Punishers 15
Tempers started to flare after Game 1 with almost both benches clearing after some words were exchanged. Not the first time this kind of thing has happened, but the umpires quickly shut it down & laid down the law. Play the game or you are gone!
Game 2 was just straight up back & fourth! 1 run here, another there, nothing spectacular. Both teams were flat for about 5 innings. The Punishers carried a 2 run lead into the 6th. Ad Rush exploded for an 8 run 6th. No home runs, just simple base hits, line drives. The Punishers responded with an 8 run 7th inning taking the lead right back. This was the test we have been waiting for with Ad Rush. Can they beat a team they are supposed to beat down 2 runs in the 7th? Well, we have our answer! It took 6 batters & it was all over when Santos hit the Sac Fly to left field. How fitting that JC scored the winning run! I kept hearing Alex shout "This is where we make our money". I suppose Ad Rush finally found their ability to make it rain! Congrats guys!
