Jersey City – The Alligators definitely didn’t hold back against the short-handed Progressive team in this blowout victory.
In the first half alone, Alligators led by as many as 21 points. Without any substitutions, Progressive ran out of gas quick. On both ends of the court Alligators made this game look too easy and their suffocating defense made every shot Progressive took hard to make. Progressive’s main offensive weapon, Tanner Cecen, held the team on his back, scoring 20 of the team’s 23 points in the first half, but the Alligators double-teamed him every chance they got.
Going into the second half, Progressive went on a quick 8-0 run cutting their deficit down to 10, but the celebration was short-lived. Too tired to keep up, Progressive couldn’t slow down the ball as the Alligators set a fast-paced game and played with such force.
To top it off, Alligators went on a 15-3 run setting their biggest lead of the night at 36. Progressive was outsized and outrebounded. Cecen capped off his night with 31 points, 3 steals, 9 rebounds and 1 block. The Alligators' Bially brothers took over the second half. Brett Bially scored 21 of his 28 points in the second half adding to Alex Bially’s 19 points, 9 assists, 8 steals and 8 rebounds.
Alligators win 80-46.
