Jersey City, NJ- Coming off a brutal 23-point loss to the New Mutants, Team Chubb desperately needed a W in Game 3 of the season as they saddled up against the deadly Alligators.
Chubb's grit and determination would be evident, as they scrapped out a much-needed 35-28 victory.
It was not a great night of shooting for both teams, as each squad struggled to find an offensive rhythm. Both Chubb and the Gators were aggressive and competitive on defense, but it was like shooting with their eyes closed.
The Alligators normal go-to guy for the 3-point shot, Alex Bially, was ice cold from downtown. Chubb’s Ali Salameh hit two 3-pointers in the first half, which allowed them to hold on to the lead, but not by much. It was a low scoring first half ,18-11, Chubb in front.
The Alligators were able to come back within 1 point, but weren't able to regain the lead. Fast-paced, sloppy and too many air-balls to count on both sides, but Chubb pulled off the win 35-28.
For the Alligators (1-1), Mike Lennon had a total 9 points, 2 assists, 1 steal and 12 rebounds in the game. He had help from Bill Leonard who scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Chubb (2-1) had two players in double figures. Jon Dempsey had 10 points, 14 rebounds recording a double-double and Drew Leatherman with 12 points, 6 rebounds 2 blocks.
