GARFIELD, NJ -- Is it me, or when a team is given fresh new ABL Jerseys, they get smoked?  Well, that was certainly the trend on Sunday between the Seton Smash & the Outlaws.  Neither team has a winning record, so it was tough to generate a guess on "who would come out swinging".  

While getting the lineup from Seton Smash, I couldnt help but overhear 1 of their players (Mr. Donnelly) saying, "Guys, no messing around, we NEED to win these 2 games".  Maybe he didn't speak loud enough or his squad were checking their fantasy football lineups at the same time, whatever it was, the speech didn't work.

The Outlaws pounced on Seton Smash by scoring 27 runs in a 5 inning mercy rule.  The Pitcher, Jerry was awesome showing off his power by crushing 2 Homers in Game 1, (6 RBI's).  Speaking of Home Runs, Brendan, Nick B, Shawn & Sean S all added Homers in the game!

Seton Smash were scoring runs, dont get me wrong. They had 14 runs through 3 innings, but it just wasn't enough!  Their defense & pitching couldn't get off the field.

Game 2 was more of the same!  Seton Smash were playing decent offensively.  Lead off man Dave crushed a Solo Homer to open the game.  But the Outlaws came out hustling again dropping 25 runs in a 5 inning romp!  One thing i did notice is that the Outlaws "wait for their pitches".  Often times in Softball, everyone wants to swing for the fences even if the ball doesn't reach the plate.  The Outlaws had a combined 11 walks in Game 2! That's 1 way to win a game, patience is a virtue!
