BERT WILLIS PARK, NEPTUNE, NJ -- Tonight's the night. Battle lines have been drawn. It's do or die. Bond Street (5-2) will try to upset the favored former champions, The Misfits (6-1) at Bert Willis Park in the ABL Summer League Championship Series.
The Misfits and Bond St. each had successful regular seasons, finishing as the top two seeds of the division. They faced each other just once, resulting in a 7-3 Misfits win. Both teams had to overcome tremendous adversity to advance in round one of the playoffs. Bond Street edged Bada Bing 5-4, and the Misfits defeated Talula's 4-3.
In tonight's championship, Bond Street will hope their sluggers come through. Dime Dave (.583, 4 HR, 18 RBI's), Matt (.739, 2 HR, 13 RBI's), Logan (.600, 2 HR, 11 RBI's) and Seth (.652, 10 RBI's) are all potent threats.
The Misfits will counteract that threat with a high-powered offense that features hits leaders JT (.741), Tommy (.593), Adrian (.812) and Doug (.684).
We'll see who comes out on top in tonight's finale - good luck to both teams!
