GARFIELD, NJ -- What a beautiful day in Garfield for Opening Day of the ABL Men's Fall League! Seton Smash & Bad Intentions duked it out in a "long" 3 1/2 double header!
Seton Smash won the first game by a score of 28 to 21! No, that is not a misprint, 28-21! Someone should have told these guys the NFL Season hasn't started just yet, September 10th fellas! The only 1/2 inning in which there were no runs recorded was in the bottom of the 4th. Bad Intentions were up through 4 innings 14-10 when Seton Smash went on a streak scoring 18 runs in the final 3 innings.
Hard to say who the MVP of Game 1 was for the Smash. Schantz & Donnell scored 5 runs a piece, while Miller & Donnelly led the team in RBIs with 5 each. Bad Intentions played well too! Batting 3rd was Jude Bracken, whom you may know from McSwiggans team & the Co Ed League in Hoboken. He went 3 for 5 with 2 Homers & a game high 9 RBIs! Impressive!

Wouldn't you know it, Bad Intentions mirrored their first game with another 21 runs scored! Mike Vasquez bombed a Homer in the in the 4th. Leading the team in runs scored was Jude & lead off man Lefty with 4 apiece! The pitcher Ray had a nice game as well only letting up 12 runs, with 1 strikeout & was solid at the plate going 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored! Seton Smash ran out of steam with their performance in Game 1. They scored 12 runs in this one, Miller had 5 RBI's leading the team!
