No Fat Chix completes their perfect season at 10-0 and captures their second league championship!

A champion has been crowned for our Spring League season and No Fat Chix has answered ever challenge thrown their way, going a perfect 10-0 on the season.  Capturing their second league championship, they completed the season unscathed in impressive fashion.  They would post a dominating 189 point differential, which, for perspective, amounts essentially to defeating every opponent via 2-minute mercy rule on average (18.9 points per game).  Mind you, this includes playoff opponents as well.  They led the league in scoring by an incredible 58 point margin to the next highest scoring team, league newcomers Off Constantly.  They scored 10 more offensive touchdowns than second place Motown while finishing just behind them for the second most receptions, a testament to this team’s offensive efficiency.  They were toward the bottom of the league in sacks, but their consistent pressure and multiple-look defense led to a league leading 19 interceptions.  Whether it’s record or stats, No Fat Chix had their way with opponents this spring season.

Front Flags = Ball Grabs had an excellent season themselves and proved to be a worthy, championship-caliber opponent.  This just would not be their night, as the game got off to a rocky start.  After a No Fat Chix touchdown, their defense would buckle down in the red zone.  A tipped pass by Henry Vieluf led to a Kyle Murphy interception that completely shifted field position in favor of No Fat Chix, who would score another touchdown to go up 13-0.  After another defense hold, things looked bleak for Front Flags = Ball Grabs, but they wouldn’t go down without a fight.  With the half winding down, Josh Biegel would intercept the No Fat Chix pass and nearly return it for a touchdown.  In a huge turn of events, Front Flags = Ball Grabs would score a touchdown on a pass from Brett Pariser to Dan Silverman as time expired to cut the lead to 13-6.  However, No Fat Chix did not allow this momentum shift to last long.  Ray Sheridan would intercept the conversion attempt and return it for 2 points the other way.  This was a deflating blow to their opponent, who would be coming out of the half with possession but down two scores instead of one.  The first half was owned by Ray Sheridan, who posted 2 receiving touchdowns on 4 receptions from quarterback Ryan Sheridan and accounted for the interception returned for two points on their opponent’s lone conversion attempt.

The second half didn’t fare much better for Front Flags = Ball Grabs.  They cleaned up the offense a bit, eliminating the interceptions, but the quarterback and receivers just could not get on the same page all game.  They did score early on a strike from Brett Pariser to Josh Biegel, but No Fat Chix would run away with it from there.  Ryan Sheridan connected with Corey Hutchinson for two more scores in the second half and the game would end on an unforced fumble into the endzone for a safety by Front Flags = Ball Grabs.

Kyle Murphy and Henry Vieluf were the defensive stars for No Fat Chix while the trio of Ryan Sheridan, Ray Sheridan, and Corey Hutchinson led the offense.  Kyle Murphy was all over the field, accounting for one interception and nearly coming down with several more as he knocked away passes from opposing receivers.  Henry Vieluf was a menace on the line, giving his opponent fits on offense.  While he did not record a sack, he did provide consistent pressure and tipped or knocked down several pass attempts, one of which resulted in the aforementioned interception by Murphy.  Ray Sheridan and Corey Hutchinson accounted for 9 of the teams 15 receptions and each found the endzone twice.  Ray Sheridan even completed a pass to quarterback Ryan Sheridan, who went 14 of 17 with 4 touchdowns and 1 interception on the game.  While his stats may have been less than what he is used to, Tim Sheridan still fulfilled his Draymond Green-type roll as the emotional sparkplug and catalyst for the team.  In fitting fashion, No Fat Chix would come away with a 30-12 victory via mercy rule at the 2-minute mark.

Congratulations to Front Flags = Ball Grabs on an excellent season and a hard fought championship matchup.  The season may not have ended as they had hoped, but they were impressive nonetheless.

No Fat Chix finished the season all over the leaderboards.  Among those who attempted at least 100 passes, Ryan Sheridan was 2nd in completions at 151, number 1 in completion percentage at 66.2%, and led the league by a wide margin in touchdown passes with 38.

Kyle Murphy tied for 10th in receptions with 30 and ranked 5th in touchdown receptions at 11. Corey Hutchinson ranked 8th in receptions at 33 and tied for 6th in receiving touchdowns with 8.  Ray Sheridan proved his ability as an endzone threat from anywhere on the field, finishing top 5 in receptions with 39 but ending in a tie for 1st in touchdowns at 14 on 20 less receptions than the other league leader Andrew Solomon.

Tim Sheridan finished in a tie for 10th in both sacks (2) and interceptions (3).  Ray and Ryan Sheridan ended the season tied for 2nd and tied for 5th in interceptions at 7 and 5 respectively.

Congratulations to No Fat Chix on a truly dominant season, knocking down achievements on both the team and individual levels as they steamrolled their way to a perfect season.  There were some close calls along the way, but No Fat Chix has proven themselves to be the undisputed best that our league has to offer.  Good luck to future challengers, as this juggernaut does not seem to be slowing down any time soon.
