HOBOKEN, NJ -- After a rare losing season, the Slingers are back with a vengeance this summer in ABL's Hoboken Coed Softball League. This past Sunday, they soundly defeated Pier 13 by a score of 5-1.

The solid pitching performance from Julia on Pier 13 from the first game of the night set the standard for Game 2 between Pier 13/Slingers.  Slingers pitcher Jesse had an all around great game.  He allowed only 1 run, 3 hits (no extra base hits).  Jesse also had a nice day at the plate going 2 for 4 with 2 doubles scoring 1 run. 

The game was sealed when Clean Up batter Ryan crushed a 2 run Homer in the top of the 7th inning.  Kudos to Alicia for going 3 for 4 with 3 singles & a team high 2 runs scored.  Everyone in the lineup had at least 1 hit.  A great overall performance from the Slingers as they advance to 3 & 0. 

Pier 13 had a hangover after their 1st game win.  No one could hit in this one.  Amy, Keith, Baraka, Liz, Julia, Jodi & Snoop all went hitless.  Team Captain Cliff had the only RBI on a Sac Fly in the bottom of the 5th.
