New Season, Same Story for the Misfits

BERT WILLIS FIELD, NEPTUNE CITY, NJ -- The opening game of the Summer 2017 campaign may have well have been any other game in any other season for the Misfits in the past 10 months. Leadoff hitter and Player of the Game, JT (4-4) got up and promptly ripped the first pitch of the season into center like he has done all year to set the tone.

Matt and Joe were the offensive stars for Bond St, each going 3-3. But it was the defensive play of Logan in left field that kept the GFY's in the game. One play in particular where Logan did his best Superman impression will be a tough one to beat for Web Gem of the Summer.

On a night where the Misfits outhit Bond St by only one, 14-13, this matchup came down to a couple mental errors on Bond St's side.

In the end, on a night where the Misfits appeared beatable, multi hit games from Tommy, Doug and Adrian to go along with JT's proved too much for Bond St to overcome, and the Misfit winning streak has now stretched to its third season.

Can anyone take down this juggernaut? There may be a couple of new contenders.

Final Score:
Misfits 7
Bond Street 3
