The NJ Expos have charisma.  They all root for each other, encourage effort, they have cheering sections, they enjoy playing the game.  They played their parent team in the Soldiers of Fortune on Sunday. 

Game 1 was all NJ Expos.  They scored 11 runs (Rich B led the tea, with 2).  The NJ Expos brought their "team component" today, 10 different players scored runs & 7 different players had RBI's.  Rich pitched a nice game only allowing 4 runs, walking 1 & striking out 2.  The Soldiers struggled, too many fielders choices & more importantly, not 1 extra base hit, (all singles).  That isn't going to cut it in Men's Softball.

Game 2, the Dad's (Soldiers of Fortune) found their groove.  They scored in 6 of the 7 innings.  9 out of 10 players scored at least 1 run.  Joelle was a beast with 5 RBIs.  Lou & Rob scored 4 runs a piece.  Total team effort!  How fitting was it that the manager Lou scored the winning run?  Soldiers of Fortune aren't going to the Playoffs, but they enjoy the game & just going out to compete shows their character!  

NJ Expos let this one slip away!  They had a 9 run lead going into the bottom of the 3rd.  Even Ray's 3 run Homer & Steve's 3 for 3 day didn't save them. They looked tired & defeated after letting up the 9 run lead. However, you can't look past the fact that the 'Spos have won 10 of their last 12 games, so we'll see if they can put this one behind them and step up big in the Playoffs as the #2 seed.
