Playoff Picture Starting to Shape Up

Things are heating up in the George Brett division as teams make their final push towards the postseason.

The defending champion Misfits are still the class of the league. They upped their perfect record to 5-0 last week with an 11-0 drubbing of the Cardinal Crushers. Player of the Game, JT (6IP, 0ER, 0BB) tossed a tidy little 2 hitter.

The explosive Misfit offense got multiple hit games from JT, Adrian, Chris, Kyle and Doug. The bats will look to stay hot this week they face off with Langosta Lounge.

In second place at 5-1 is Make it a Double. They exploded for 6 in the bottom of the third to hold off Langosta Lounge, 8-4.

Player of the Game Dave Gurney had a nice night at the dish scoring twice and driving in 3 on a triple and an inside the park homer. However, it was the 15 team walks that MIAD amassed that really told the story of this one.

In the evening's first game, Porta held tough and appeared to be on the verge of their first win of the season. But third place Bond St had other ideas.

Charlie (3-4, 3R) and Player of the Game Seth (3-3, 2R, 6RBI) provided enough scoring for Bond St to get the 8-4 win and get over .500 for the season at 3-2.

For Porta, Mike Dietze's bases clearing triple had the bench buzzing in the 2nd. But the excitement would soon end as the 2-5 batters for Porta stranded 13 runners on base and did not drive in a single run.

Porta will have another shot this week to get their first victory when they take on Talulas at 615pm.

The defenses have shined all season on Bert Willis field. As we inch closer to the second season, the question remains, who will get the right hits at the right moments to unseat our defending champs?
