2-game sweep over Team Trenn

CENTURY FIELD, GARFIELD, NJ -- Finally!  Some nice weather came our way as most games the past 2 Sunday's have been rained out.  The Young Bucs & Team Trenn took the field at Century in Garfield Sunday, 5/21.

Game 1 was a solid effort all around for the Young Bucs as they drove in 18 total runs including a strong 1st inning which resulted in 5 runs.  Clean up batter "Slade" was a monster & showed why he belongs at this spot in the line up, going 2 for 3 with a Walk, 4 runs scored, 3 RBI's & a bomb of a Home Run in the top of the 5th inning sealing the victory.  The Young Bucs had a total of "7" extra base hits & certainly waited for their pitch, collecting 5 Walks in the game.

Team Trenn started out ok, scoring 2 in the 1st, 2 in the 2nd & 1 in the 3rd but soon fell asleep, scoring 0 in back to back innings in the 4th & 5th.  Mende batted 1.000 going 3 for 3 & so did Fisher going 2 for 2.  Team Trenn just couldn't get anything deep, only hitting 3 extra base hits in the game.

Final Game 1:
Young Bucs - 18
Team Trenn - 5

Game 2 wasn't much better for Team Trenn, in fact it might have been a little worse.  8 total base hits, (none of which went for extra bases).  Several Trenn players struggled to get on base, including Clean Up man Jimi Grem & Welsh.  If 1 player can hold his head up high is pitcher Grem who made 2 incredible heads up catches on 2 line drives hit back to the mound!  Give credit to where credit is due, definitely would have made ESPN Top 10 Plays.

The Young Bucs (6-2) picked up right where they left off scoring runs in every inning, 4,2,3, & 5.  At one point, it looked like a Home Run Derby with Pepin blasting 2 Home Runs & Team Captain Robbins (5th on the team in total hits) crushing a 2 Run shot in the 1st inning.  Young Bucs now have a solid winning record & if they keep their bats hit & defense solid, they might be a team to watch out for moving forward!

Final Score Game 2:
Young Bucs - 14
Team Trenn - 2
