SECAUCUS, NJ -- This past Sunday at Millridge in Secaucus, The McSwiggans Pub added to their win streak by crushing 'Here Come the Runs".
Game 1 was a blowout, with McSwiggans victorious by a final score of 22-0. Jim Pilla pitched a shutout for the Swigs. Kind of difficult to argue who the best hitter was in Game 1, but lets give it to Dave Wasserman who smashed a Grand Salami in the bottom of the 3rd giving him 5 RBI's on the day, plus 2 doubles & 3 runs scored. Julio also had 5 RBI's in this one. Getting back to Team Captain, Pilla had 2 K's & only allowed 8 hits (all singles) in Game 1.
Game 2 wasn't much better for Here Come the Runs as they struggled to get any "extra base hits". In total, they only had 1, care of lead off man Mugsy who had a lead off triple in the bottom of the 1st. There were some outfield miscommunication with Here Come the Runs where several balls should have been caught (of course the wind wasn't helping either). McSwiggans Pub added 21 runs in Game 2 including Home Runs by Monte, Adam (2). One of Adam's homers was a Grand Slam.
Here Come the Runs finally did get on the board scoring 4 runs in this one. The RBI's are credited to Rob, Mitch, Bart & Frankie!
