Misfits Pick up Where They Left Off

The marquee match up of the evening was a Fall Season Championship Game Rematch, Misfits vs Make it a Double. There was a buzz in the air and the bleachers were packed to watch these two heavyweights square off.

For the first half of the night we got the game we expected, good pitching and defense and both teams playing it close to the vest. After 4 innings, the Misfits held a slim 3-1 lead.

In the 5th however it was a line drive double to center off the bat of Riyan Flannelly (2-4, 2R, 3RBI) that scored two and opened the floodgates. When it was all said and done The Misfits exploded for 22 hits and 15 runs led by Kyle Hardy, Danielle Smith and JT Yuschak who each had 3 hits. Player of the Game Tommy Mills was 4-4 scoring 3 times and knocking in 2 more.

Even when Make it a Double was ahead in the count they looked tight all night long swinging at pitcher's pitches. The good news for MIAD is they get a chance to right the ship and get above .500 next week when they play the double header vs Cardinal and Porta.
