For the second time in a week, the ABB Ballers and Ball Don't Lie hooked up in a barn burner. After getting handed their first loss (by one point) of the season last Tuesday, the squad from Ball Don't Lie had their calendars marked for this revenge spot.
The ABB Ballers came out with the hot hand, paced by league MVP candidate Robert Cheeks. Cheeks had maybe his most impressive game of the season with 25 points and 7 boards. Angel Sanabria also helped the Ballers take a halftime lead with his 20 point, 5 rebound, 2 steal effort.
Balls Don't Lie were game for a dog fight though. They had 4 players score in double figures including sharp shooter Dylan Brossman who nailed 4 from 3, scoring 16 and dishing out 7 assists.
Player of the Game Simon Smith also added to his MVP candidacy with yet another monster night; 25 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists.
When the final whistle blew, the score was knotted at 69. BDL would win the extra frame 5-2 and grab the Victory. The win put them a .5 game back from the first place Goodfellas and made their March 19 match up 'must see TV.'
