JERSEY CITY, NJ -- On the surface, the game between the Alligators and Monstars looked like nothing more than a matchup of one-win teams. But when you take a closer look at the way the Michael Jordan division is shaping up, you realize quickly its basically two separate sub divisions. The three teams at the top are all playing for position. But it's the three at the bottom who have already started feeling the post season pressure. One game separates the three teams fighting for the ever important 4 seed.
The Alligators took a giant leap forward in that race Tuesday night with their win over the Monstars.
The recipe for success has been the same for the Gators all year, balanced scoring. It seems like someone different steps up each week. This time it was Bill L who drained 5 from downtown on his way to a 23 point, 7 rebound night. Mike L filled the stat sheet with a balanced effort- 17 points, 5 boards, 3 dimes and 2 steals.
The Monstars got big nights from Julian Diaz (13 points, 2 steals) and team scoring leader Eli Nunez (14.2 ppg) who had another impressive game offensively (21 points) and defensively (9 rebounds, 4 steals).
Both teams look strong and ready to continue the push for that last playoff spot.
