The first game Tuesday night was a good old fashioned defensive struggle where points were at a premium.
For the Hawks, Michael Sananes had himself a great game- 14 points, 10 boards and 5 assists. The majority of those assists went to teammate (and the team's leading scorer), Ramone Webster who ripped the net 4 times from outside en route to a 23 point night, upping his team leading points per game average to 15.4 for the season. Webster also played his steady D adding 6 rebounds and 2 steals. The pair accounted for 37 of the team's 43 points but needed one more bucket.
The Bandits were paced by a dynamic duo of their own. Rashid Moore put up a nice stat line of 8 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. The team's leading scorer, Jason Montalvo scored 16 points including 4 from behind the arc to take the league lead for the season with 24 three pointers.
After grabbing a one point lead at the half, the Bandits were able to trade buckets in the second and hold on for the W to get their second win of the season.
The Hawks loss was their 7th consecutive, but not for lack of effort. Their scoring is improving every week and the close scores reflect that. When these two teams meet up again in a couple weeks for the season finale you can bet it will be another great game.
